No School February 22 & 23
Based upon our survey of employees, we do not believe we will have a suitable amount of staff to adequately supervise students on Thursday and Friday, February 22nd and 23 rd due to the planned statewide work stoppage. Therefore, all schools in Monroe County will be closed both days.
The two closure days are not snow packet days and will not result in a loss of instructional time. June 6th and 7th are now regular instructional days for students.
We have arranged with our backpack programs to send food home today with those students who are registered and receive those snacks.
Warm meals will be served on Friday, February 23 rd from 12:00 p.m. — 2:00 p.m. at the following locations:
• Peterstown United Methodist Church in Peterstown
• Monroe County Public Library in Union
We remain hopeful that an agreement will be reached between the legislature, governor, and employee organizations, that will prevent us from having to close school. Should an agreement be reached, we will notify you immediately using the phone message system, social media, websites, and local media outlets.
