Attention Parents of Homeschool Students in grades 3-8 and 11:
It is that time of year to begin thinking about end-of-year testing. Assessments for homeschool students are required in grades 3, 5, 8, & 11. Monroe County Schools offers testing in the following grade levels: 3-8, & 11. There are different assessment options that are available for you to choose for your child/children. They are as follows:
1. Standardized Test given by a certified person/organization
2. Portfolio evaluated by a certified teacher
3. WVGSA State Test/SAT School Day (11th grade) - given to Monroe County Schools Students
If you choose the WVGSA/SAT School Day for the end of year assessment for your child/children, then please complete the link at the bottom to register. We must receive it no later than Friday, December 13, 2024. If you choose the WVGSA/SAT option, then your child/children's name(s) will be given to the school that they would be attending if they were enrolled in the public-school system. You will need to contact the Principal/Administrator of that school, and they will give you the testing dates for your child/children. Your child/children will report to that location on their scheduled test dates and complete the WVGSA/SAT along with the other students in the school.
If you should have any questions/concerns, please feel free to contact me. I will be glad to assist in any way that we are able. My contact information is as follows:
btuggle@k12.wv.us (Bobbie Tuggle, Director of Technology and Assessment Coordinator) (304) 646-1650
Thank you for your time, and I hope that everyone is having a great school year thus far!

We enjoyed a little ninja fun at PMS today. All the teams participated, but 7th documented.

Andrew Fenstermaker, New York Life financial representative and co-founder of Solid Rock Financial Partners LLC, came and spoke to Mr. Riffe’s business company during CTE. He provided the students with personal finance 101 techniques that will help them with future financial endeavors. Andrew, we thank you for your wisdom!

This past week PMS celebrated red ribbon week. The theme was “Life is a movie. Film drug free.” Students were treated to a movie on Friday. We want to give a huge shout out to Johnny Spangler with Jumpin’ Johnny’s Popcorn for the donation to the school! 🍿 🎥 🏴☠️

There will be no school on November 4th and 5th. Monday is Curriculum Development Day and Tuesday is Election Day.

Due to a bus issue, Bus 207 will be running around 30 minutes late for this evening run.
