The Board meeting scheduled for October 4, 2022 has been rescheduled to October 11, 2022. This meeting will take place at the Monroe County Technical Center.
All after school activities are canceled for Friday, September 30th.
JMHS Football game against Pikeview has been cancelled for tomorrow due to weather. We will post the date it will be made up as soon as we know!

The main agenda item will be FY22 Financial Closeout.
Monroe County Schools would like to thank WVU’s Pride of West Virginia for sharing their musical talents with our students, faculty, staff, and community. This was a great day for all. We want to also thank Wyatt Thornton for the drone footage. There will be many more photos and videos of this exciting day coming.
Parents, the evening buses will be delayed due to the WVU Band performance. We anticipate them to being 20-30 minutes late.
The Pride of West Virginia, the WVU Band, will be at James Monroe High School to perform Thursday, September 22nd at 1:30 pm. We welcome the community to join us beginning at 1:00 pm. The public will not be allowed to bring any bags, backpacks, purses, boxes, etc.
Monroe County Schools would like to send a big thank you to Halla Alsabbah and her son for her cash and shoe donations. Halla is a former Monroe County student who drove from Greenville, SC to share blessings with our children.
Monroe County Schools will have a special board meeting on Tuesday, September 26 at 6 PM. The meeting will be at the board of education office and the main agenda item will be FY 22 financial closeout.

The new Peterstown PK-8 school, has a new American Flag in every classroom. Every single flag placed, was given a military salute. Our community stood behind this project, through Woodmen Life, Private Donations, 50/50 Drawings, Raffles and the 4th of July Picnic. The American Legion Post 145 along with Mrs. Jhanna Lively led the efforts for this project and we are very thankful for their hard work and dedication.
Monroe County Schools would like to send a huge shout out to all those volunteers who came out today to help with the new school playground. You could have been enjoying the state fair today but you chose to spend your time working for others. We greatly appreciate it and would like to thank the following businesses:

Reminder that Monroe County Schools will be hosting a Job Fair at James Monroe High School this Thursday, July 7th. The times are from 9am-12pm and 2pm-5pm.
