Jarius Broyles and Tabby Samsel placed 1st and 2nd place, respectively, in Monday’s FFA Regional Large Tractor competition. Not pictured is Gabe Stapleton of Summers Co, who placed 3rd. The students had to pass a written test, parts id, safety and a driving course with both a two-wheel trailer and four-wheel wagon.

On behalf of Communities In Schools of Monroe County and Mountain View Elementary/Middle School we would like to give a special thanks to Mountain Valley Pipeline for the recent grant of $1,500 to use to empower students to confront and overcome personal challenges and structural barriers—so they can take charge of the future they want for themselves, their communities and each other.

Educators rising at Fall conference

Last weeks PES attendance winners. Way to have perfect attendance for the week!

MCTC’s Strings, Wings, Rings and Things Open House event was a success! Lots of people stopped by to explore student projects, support fundraising and enjoy live music by Emma Shirey, Caden Glover and others.




WV State HOSA Treasurer Maddie McMillion and WV State Educators Rising President Michael Fraley are busy in Morgantown leading the WV CTSO Fall Leadership Conference.
MCTC students and advisors from FBLA, FCCLA, Educators Rising and HOSA are attending the conference this week.

Agricultural students and Monroe County FFA students Granger Gore, Caleb Broyles, and Ethan Fullen speak to 7th and 8th grade students on cuts of meat, and meat processing.

MCTC Agricultural students meet with 7th and 8th grade science classes on a variety of topics. Here, Emma Ballard with assistance from Kinley Reece and Cole Martin demonstrate tools for cattle care.

Law and Public Safety MCTC students speak to MV 6,7,8 grades on safe cyber skills.

Family Fun Pack gift bags from MCTC included candy, pens, a flag, bookmark, complimentary tokens and coupons for food items and activities at the Strings, Wings, Rings and Things Open House event. Also included was a purple star ornament to be displayed throughout the holidays and beyond as a reminder of the deep gratitude felt for our service members.
