8th grade had a blast today! Their state testing is finished and they enjoyed a fun filled trip to Carowinds.

While reviewing digestive, nervous, and circulatory systems Mrs. Williams' 8th grade students at Peterstown Middle School dissected earthworms comparing human and earthworm anatomy.
Monroe County Shines at the West Virginia History Bowl!
On Tuesday, April 30th, Monroe County participated in the 15th annual West Virginia History Bowl, where over 100 schools competed. Peterstown Middle qualified through the play-in tournament and impressively placed 5th in the state tournament! Meanwhile, Mountain View took second place in Region One and finished as the State Runner-Up! Two Mountain View team members, Luke Fullen and Maddie Baker, made the All-Star team!
Huge congratulations to both teams:
Peterstown Team: Cooper Frazier, Alexis Broyles, Marshal White, Jessa Hill, and alternate Skylar Brubaker.
Mountain View Team: Peighton Griffith, Maddie Baker, Gabriella Houck, Luke Fullen, and alternate Peyton Street.

Prom Information
Doors open to the public at 6:15-7 for viewing.
Door will lock at 7
Students will be allowed in at 7:15-8
Students will be locked in until after crowning of king and queen at 10:45.
Prom is from 8-11pm
Once the students enter the doors they will not be allowed to exit.
The cost of pictures will be $42.00 per package.
Beginning today, May 1, the Wellness Center at each school will be offering free sport physicals for students. Call the Wellness Center at your child's school to get yours scheduled; paperwork can be sent home with your child for completion prior to being seen.

Thank you to Victoria Cox for presenting Rethink Your Drink to Peterstown PK-8 and James Monroe High School students this week. They were given blackberry mint-infused water to sample while learning just how much sugar is in some of their favorite drinks!
WVU Extension Office, Victoria Cox, came to Kid's Learning Center PreK to discuss how water is healthy and makes you grow while offering a sample of blackberry-infused water! They also received a book about Potter the Otter to take home and share with their friends and family about the things they learned.
