Monroe County's Nursing department has implemented parent portals for your student's health records and we can't wait to see you join and see all the perks built within. Please review your phone numbers and emergency contacts at your earliest convenience as the import from the school database to SNAP had some hiccups.
The MVS staff were treated to a “Build your own coffee bar” provided by Communities In Schools Site-Coordinator Brandon Eggleston. We would like to thank Manic Espresso for being a Partner in Education and donating the items. The coffee bar will be available to staff every other Friday until the end of the school year.
Week 3 of James Monroe Senior Fall Sports players Kaden Lowe, Maddison Noonkester, Paige Amos, Leianna Richmond, Jacob Hall, and Jackson Phipps visited EHS this past week and shared some stories with the children. The children enjoyed hearing Aliens love Dinopants, Eric Carle ABC book, numerous nursery rhymes, My First Book of ABC's, My First Book of Animals, The Old Lady who Could Not Sleep in her Bed, Old MacDonald, and The Prince and the Witch and the Thief and the Bears .
They also enjoy a stroll over the football field to watch some Powder Puff Football and hear the Marching Mavericks!
EHS students look forward to hearing more stories over the next several weeks from their favorite Mavericks!

EHS students along with their families and our home visitors along with their families traveled to The Hanna Farmstead Pumpkin Farm, on Thursday, Oct. 12. Students picked a Pumpkin, went on a hayride, fed goats, saw some beautiful flowers, and enjoyed riding the wagon train. PART 2

James Monroe Senior Fall Sports players Jacob Clarkson, Jacob Hall, Dylan Johnson, Hudson Boggess, and Kaden Lowe visited EHS this past week and shared some stories with the children. The children enjoyed hearing stories of silly animal sounds in Say What?, Aliens Love Dinopants, Toddler Highlights, and Never Touch a Grumpy Bat. EHS students look forward to hearing more stories over the next several weeks from their favorite Mavericks!
Monroe County Schools celebrated National School Lunch Week. The students enjoyed terrific meals with a special treat each day. We say thank you to our amazing food service staff for your dedication and hard work every day. They help keep our students fueled and ready to learn!

Peterstown students in grades 3, 4, and 5 began learning about computer science, coding and robotics today! The indi learning robot is designed to introduce students to the computational thinking, STEAM, and computer science principles. Students explore, experiment, and design their own mazes as they learn how it reacts to each color tile. Color sensors on the robot tell it turns, speeds, and other information.
MVS elementary students are learning the instrument families in an orchestra. Kindergarten students are exploring the triangles found in the percussion section.
