School nurses, grounded in ethical and evidence-based practice, are the leaders who bridge health care and education, provide care coordination, advocate for quality student-centered care, and collaborate to design systems that allow individuals and communities to develop their full potential.
What does it take to become a school nurse? To be a school nurse, one must be a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s level degree or higher. They must also complete the required coursework to get their certification as a West Virginia Certified School Nurse. Optionally, they may become Nationally certified by qualifying for and passing a National School Nurse exam.
This being said, make sure to stop and thank your School Nurse. Happy National School Nurse Day!

Mrs. Taylor's Senior Math class completed a four part "Dream House" Project. During this project they had to calculate the cost to build their dream home. After completing the cost analysis students had to draw and design a blueprint to scale. Part three of the project students had to complete was building a 3-D model of their house either virtual or real life. The final part was presenting their 3-D model to their class with the pros and cons.
Mrs. Walsh’s class has been incubating baby chicks for science and today they hatched!
