We are currently collecting recipes for a Senior Cookbook to be sold as a fundraiser for Project Graduation. This will be a great keepsake for your seniors and will make great Christmas gifts. We ask that each Senior bring in at least one recipe. These can be their favorite recipe or a family member's favorite. Please turn these in no later than November 4th so that we can have them available by Mid December. They can be turned into Mr. Tom Gardinier at JMHS or emailed to Heather Clarkson @ heather.clarkson.29.11@gmail.com. Thank you so much for helping our Seniors.

James Monroe High School and Monroe County Schools have officially moved to Parchment! This is an online transcript-processing service we have implemented to make ordering transcripts easier. It will deliver your transcripts to recipients that you select in the format that you prefer quickly and efficiently. Transcripts cost $5 to electronically send to recipients, and $7.75 to send via standard mail. Expedited shipping can be paid for, as well. NOTE: Current students do NOT need to pay the transcript fee, and can have transcripts sent for free. Go to the link below, or visit the JMHS Counseling page at jmhscounseling.weebly.com for more information. https://www.parchment.com/u/registration/25599/account?q_mailing_7TSNcfERFJExGSUPpx1Nt58fEhJYFEsWLyGPd=Rp3qZ8bstH6uAcbR9nSFsXCoBacwSpAPW7GpttQdhi3M8kDEfrvZ4dJf2

Today, in STEM class at PES students considered what would happen if their body didn't have bones. In the activity, Skeleton Hand, students combine science with art: they trace their hands, then add see-through bones to their picture, making their own skeleton hand.

Introduction to Agriculture students from Monroe County Technical Center, Greenbrier East High School, and Greenbrier West High School met at the Willowbend Agriculture Innovation Center on Wednesday, October 30 for the first annual Agriculture Safety Day. Sponsored by the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day program, a nationwide program, students rotated through 6 different stations to learn about 8 different safety topics offered by our team of volunteers. Topics covered included ATV safety, hearing and sun safety, tractor and PTO safety, lawn mower safety, and animal handling. Trained volunteers used a curriculum designed to help students understand how safety is vitally important on the farm. They were provided a pre-packed lunch by a donation from Collins Aerospace and each student received a Progressive Ag Safety Day T-Shirt. Thank you to everyone involved from instructor volunteers, to student volunteers, and students for a successful day and we are excited to host future safety days at the farm! If interested in sponsoring or donating to the safety day please contact Brian Wickline or Shawn Hill coordinators of the event for more information on how you can help make our farms safe for future generations! Event volunteer instructors were Beth Massey Richard Miller Brian Wickline Ty Judy Sonya Fullen Allison Tomlinson Andy Tomlinson Don Dransfield Shawn Hill Special thanks to Nathan Sears and Boone Tractor for bringing equipment for demo purposes.
